Canada Pakistan Trade Expo witness heavy crowd

Mr. Sultan Ahmed Chawla President FPCCI and Pakistan Trade Delegation under the head of Mr. Mohibullah Shah Chief Executive of TDAP called on Mr. Gary Collins Chief Executive Officer of the Brampton Board of Trade of Canada. Mr. Gary Collins expressed his confidence that the Canada Pakistan Trade Expo will prove to be a turning point in promotion of bilateral trade relations and restoring the confidence of Canadian buyers. He suggested that Canadian market can be exploited by organizing such events with continuity.

Niagara small business trade show features 80 exhibitors

THOROLD — Small Business Club Niagara is hosting its 14 annual trade show next Wednesday.

To be held at Four Points by Sheraton, 3530 Schmon Pky., from noon to 8 p.m., the show is designed for regional small businesses to promote their products and services. Admission is free.

The trade show is an opportunity to see the variety and scope of new business ventures in Niagara. It’s also a forum for networking.

About 400 people attended last year.

More than 80 exhibitors will showcase a range of products and services.

Small Business Club Niagara is a growing not-for-profit incorporated organization that encourages small business owners in Niagara by offering support, networking and learning opportunities.

The trade show is sponsored by 91.7 Giant FM, Meridian Credit Union, The Business Link Niagara, The Standard and Niagara College’s Workplace Development Services.

The Canada Small Business Financing Program helps you with your financing needs. Under the program, the Government of Canada makes it easier for small businesses to get loans from financial institutions by sharing the risk with lenders.

Specifically, if a borrower defaults on a loan, Industry Canada is responsible for85 percent of any eligible loss under the program. The lender is responsible for the balance of the loss.

Winnipeg's proposed inland port gets $212M boost

Manitoba's plan for an inland port was given a big boost toward reality on Tuesday with Prime Minister Steven Harper committing more than $100 million in federal funds.

Harper was in the province to observe flooded areas of southern Manitoba and announce federal stimulus funding for the port concept.
